1st LIEUTENANT JOHN B. STETSON

Need picture!

John Stetson, of the famous Stetson hat company, learned to fly well before the war. He was certified by the Aero Club of America and held an Expert Aviator’s Certificate number 106.

Lt Stetson entered the Air Service as soon the U.S. entered the war. Since he was 33 years old, and because of his flying skills, he was assigned to the Third Aviation Instruction Center at Issoudun, France from July 1917 to the end of the war.

Stetson again served his country with distinction during W.W. II. He later became the American Consul for Iran when the Shaw was returned to power after W.W. II. He died in 1952.
